Simulacra
This seems to be the appropriate time to address the ability to perceive images in random patterns, (e.g. foliage) just like seeing pictures or forms in clouds or inkblots. The name for this is simulacra.
This word, touted by skeptics, explains away what others see as paranormal, for they see it as simulacra. If this is not paranormal, why is it that this is usually found in places purported to be haunted?
In the defense of the paranormal, it doesn’t make a bit of sense that spirit would reinvent the wheel. They will use whatever is at their disposal to make their presence known. Faces, body forms and sometimes, complete stories appear in the midst of trees, foliage, paneling, wallpaper and various backgrounds. Below are several examples. What do you see?
