What Is A Ghost?
In order to understand others as they attempt
to explain what they saw, it is essential that each member
has the same picture of the word that is spoken. Because
of this, we must explore the definitions of each.. Most
ghost investigators acknowledge five types of ghostly activity.

An entity, according to the Spiritualist Church,
is a being that has life. It is a ghost that is conscious
and often interactive. Let’s examine this. Many people
as taught, believe they are a combination of body and soul.
If so, what are we when our soul leaves the body at the
time of death? We are an entity viewed as a disembodied
soul. Is this true and what is our evidence?
If it is true that a ghost is what remains of a once-living
being, human or animal, then we are all ghosts just wearing
a body. If an entity is something we leave behind, then
it is something that we must have had when we were alive.
The best way to look at this to break the body down to its
smallest particle and examine it. A short chemistry lesson
teaches us that cells, molecules, atoms and electrical particles
make up all matter. We know that magnetic fields surround
electrical charges and these magnetic fields produce electrical
charges. Charges and fields create electromagnetic energy,
the result of their interaction. This magnetic energy surrounds
our bodies and we call them EMFs, Electro-Magnetic-Fields.
If you doubt this, consider that our bodies are actually
electrical machines. Every time our heart beats, we release
an electric pulse. Our brain sends out waves, along with
our nervous system, our muscles and almost every function
of our body operates according to electrical principles.
We can photograph our aura using Kirlian photography, proving
we have this electrical field that radiates around our body
for we can see it and we can photograph it. Where does this
energy go when we leave the body? Science proved energy
cannot be destroyed; it can only change form. This form
of energy is what many believe is the entity.
The entity may be full-bodied or partial body. Voices, music,
footsteps, aromas, mists, fogs may accompany any entity.
They will make many attempts to get attention which the
uninformed investigator will find frightening. They may
turn the lights on and off or they may move things or shove
them off a table. These entities account for a majority
of the hauntings and are relatively harmless

Imprints
-
Some ghosts do not appear conscious. They pay no attention
to observers and always look and act in the same way. Imprints
are like a recording, played back, repeatedly. They do not
interact like the entity. Like the car driven down a muddy
road, it passes, and the impact of the weight of the car
makes a tire print in the mud. Over time, the imprint fades
and completely disappears until another car passes over
it imprinting once again.
Strong emotions can cause an imprint; maybe a fire or perhaps
a murder. Any form of an extreme emotion can cause an imprint.
The energy is so strong that it imprints the atmosphere
and will sometimes remain quiet until the imprint in re-energized
by some trait, and like the car tract, becomes re-imprinted.
It may be the murder victim had blonde hair, so anyone entering
into this space with blonde hair can cause the imprint to
re-energize. Perhaps alcohol had some connection to a past
experience and if a drinker comes into the area, the imprint
is re-energized.
Wood, stone and metal have their own properties and energies
but can be altered by their environment and affected by
geological conditions and temperature changes. These material
can and do absorb other things. They can absorb intense,
stressful, traumatic, and emotional feeling and put those
events into their memory and play them back when conditions
are right. Could this explain the faces, forms and objects
that may appear in material found in a photograph?
A residue or a place memory is just other names for an imprint
that can be seen or heard and in very rare cases, felt.
An anniversary imprints would be an event that happens at
the same time each year but is always dependable regardless
of who is present at the time.
The event appears but there is no interaction between you
and the ghosts. Conditions must be right for the ghost to
appear. These are not earthbound spirits and are simply
energies that have imprinted and replays repeatedly. Although,
sometimes frightening, there is no reason to fear them.

Warps - Most investigators deal only with imprints or entity haunting but there is another, more complex ghost. This type of ghost is a warp and they occur where the laws of physics appear distorted and things do unfamiliar actions making the whole area seem surreal. These are rare and a good example of a warp is the Bermuda Triangle.
Six navy planes vanished in this area on December 5, 4945 declaring that they could not see land and everything was strange and that even the sea over which they were flying did not look right. Contact with them was lost and the six planes never found to this day.
Time warps take the viewer into another time and another place even though they may be standing in their living room. Everything will change and appears different. Furniture may not be the modern type as we know it, but resemble a parlor during Victorian times. These experiences are not an imprint, nor are they an entity. There may or may not be electromagnetic energy. They are difficult to define other than it can twist our perceptions beyond any logically explanation. A warp distorts our idea about our reality making up become down and inside become outside. Linear time does not exist as the viewer moves forward or backward in moments. Warps are not active all the time and what triggers their occurrence remains one of great mystery.
Warps come with entities, sometimes hundreds. Possibly
by distorting the time/space scenario, the warp may be a
natural portal, a doorway through which entities may materialize. It
is place where past, present and future blur, warning us
to expect anything.
A doctor and his wife experienced a "time
warp" when visiting Isreal. They were sitting on a
bluff overlooking a desert when each experience the warp
in a different way. Samantha explained she heard a town
coming to life. She heard chickens, birds, a baby's cry
and general sounds of a town beginnins its day. She was
a newly wed and looked over at her husband trying to decide
whether to tell him what she was experiening. He looked
back at her and said " I can see the people and the
town coming to life". So it appears that "time
warps" can be seen and heard or just heard and experience
differently by different people in the same place, at the
same time.

Poltergeist
-However, since much research is completed, researchers
presented these findings. Although much paranormal activity
happened it seem that some invisible entity was having an
impact on the environment but never seen. Unlike other ghosts,
the paranormal activity was temporary ranging from a few
days to a few months. Most noticeable was that the Poltergeist
seem to center around one person which in most cases was
an adolescent perhaps having to do with hormonal flows,
causing an energy that this ghost could feed off of for
its own energy which it put into the environment. Perhaps
the reason for their short-lived activity is that when they
use the all of the energy available, the poltergeist disappears.
It is the German word, which means "noisy ghost"
once thought to be mischievous spirits who main purpose
was to scare people by playing tricks on them.
Throwing things, turning lights on and off or moving things from one place to another is their game.

Naturals

Naturals fall in to the ghost category only
because they are a rare phenomenon that may look like a
ghost, but created by some scientifically unknown property
of the present nature. A natural is complete of its time
but mimics activity that a casual observer would refer to
as a ghost. One example of a natural is the lights that
appeas on a regular basis in North Carolina called the Brown
Mountain Lights. Legends say the lights are the torches
of the warriors who marched into the mountains, carrying
torches and looking for their fallen warriors.
The lights are orange, yellow or red and appear
spontaneously and are npredictable. They may be unseen for
weeks and then suddenly appear. The lights move and dance
and may split into three or four smaller lights. They may
line up like soldiers and move single file across the mountain
ridge. The lights have baffled scientists since 1912 and
fall into this category of naturals. When observing a natural,
record its pattern of activity and record the findings.
This record keeping is what separates a true scientist and
investigator from a pseudo scientist and a ghost maker.
Time may prove that what we see is not an activity that
fits into the action of a ghost but is only a rare process
of nature not yet explained.

Why
do Entities Stick Around?
Entities may be stuck here (earthbound) for
reasons such as tragic sudden death, fear of moving on,
guilt or unfinished business. They also could be here
visiting loved ones or to warn someone or pass along a message.
These human spirits are the same as they were in life, so
they may be good or bad, but not really evil. Think
of all the people you know, probably a bit of good and bad,
some worse than others. This type can cause some scary
situations but you must think about the situation they are
in; you don't see them but they see you. Yes, there
are extreme cases where they can cause dangerous situations,
but this is not the norm and is extremely rare.
Don't feel sad about the little child who
speaks from the grave in the cemetery or the woman's voice
who begs you to "help me". Some cruel, unforgiving
God does not tie these souls to the cemetery. It may be
that sticking around may be their "soul mission".
Maybe it will be an EVP (electronic voice phenomena) or
a photograph that will open the door so some living person
who is living in a world without possibilities.

Can
Ghost hurt me?
In my many years of ghost investigations,
trying to find that very answer, I have to say I am still
searching for the answer. If it were not for an experience
I had at a historical society museum here in Arizona, I
would have answered "NO". However, someone or
something threw down the highest, center glass globe, which
a witness said, went straight up in the air and then over
the lower bulb. The bulb bounced off my head and then fell
on my hand, causing a bruise on my hand as I was trying
to plug in an infrared camera. Was the plug dangerous? Was
this "being" trying to protect me from a shock
or worse? Was it an accident that came about as he was trying
to help me?
